The National Circle for Indigenous Agriculture and Food (NCIAF) is proud to present wo inina 2025, a one-day event focused on the future of Indigenous food sovereignty. This gathering will take place on February 12, 2024, at the Westin Hotel in Ottawa, Ontario, and will bring together Indigenous communities along with leaders, advocates, and stakeholders from across Canada to celebrate, reflect on, and advance Indigenous food systems.

From 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, the event will center around empowering Indigenous voices, celebrating the resilience and innovation of Indigenous communities, and advocating for sustained growth and investment in the agricultural sector as well as provide a platform to showcase the significant strides NCIAF has made in supporting Indigenous food sovereignty. Throughout the day, attendees will hear from prominent speakers, view powerful videos, and engage with presentations that highlight key milestones and successes in Indigenous food systems across the country. 

The event will be an opportunity to:

  • Empower Indigenous Voices: Give a platform to community leaders and advocates to share their experiences, challenges, and visions for the future of food systems within Indigenous communities.

  • Celebrate Milestones and Successes: Reflect on the impact that NCIAF has had in advancing Indigenous food sovereignty and share the stories of Indigenous agricultural leaders and change-makers.

  • Advocate for Growth and Support: Discuss the importance of continued support, investment, and policies that foster the development and sustainability of Indigenous food systems.

Optional Networking Reception from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM. The social will provide an informal setting to continue discussions, network with peers, and build lasting connections.
